Luxory resort in Los Peñasquitos
This luxury resort, which is set in the beautiful area of Los Peñasquitos Canyon Preserve (California), was born from the desire to recreate a Mediterranean property representing the “Old World”. The resort has been chosen as one of the best resort in the USA. The Grand Del Mar summarizes the style and the elegance of Athena’s works.
Like Addison Mizner's style
The project of Grand del Mar recalls the unique style of the visionary architect Addison Mizner (1872 – 1933), who was inspired by Spanish palaces, French sun-filled coasts and decorative arts in Florence to plan other close resorts in Palm Beach and Boca Raton.
Beautiful and exclusive
Fine Italian materials, such as Red Levanto, Royal Yellow and White Calacatta, have been chosen to fit into a refined and exclusive environment; they are also combined with Jerusalem Gold, Black Portoro and Ming Green marbles.
The marble works, which are wisely made by Athena, are inserted – as they were precious stones – in the context of the resort.
Columns of different size, which have been emptied to lighten their weight, with capitals and friezes have been carved by hand; they constellate the elegant space and eight private villas in the resort. Villas have inside inlaid fireplaces, polychrome floors, patios surrounded by gardens and fountains of the finest manufacture.
Inlays taylor-made
Under the personal direction of the customer, who joined Athena to be sure of the authentic Italian production, inlaid elements completely taylor-made were made according to customer’s picture. The customer personally follows the project step by step giving advice for the choice of the colour stones and paying great attention to the chromatic effect in the selected context.
