Amaya - La Jolla

Renowned luxury restaurant in San Diego, California.

An ambitious project who saw us involved in the creation of the external part of the local. The majestic entrance's arches and the cornices permitted us to bring our Made in Italy in the States, once again.

The designer, Warren Sheet, desired something precious, chromatically powerful and elegant. We suggested him Statuario White for the carved mezzelune, the Italian material by excellence. We used. then, the Michelangelo Black and Gold to match the internal decor and create a significant cromatica detachment. Ultimately, Giallo Cleopatra, to underline the gold veins of the Michelangelo Black and Gold.

Located on busy Prospect Street, in one of the glitziest neighborhoods in America, this latest venture from Douglas F. Manchester — publisher of U-T San Diego — has coffered ceilings, elaborate drapery, hand-woven carpets, Venetian crystal chandeliers, exotic Michelangelo black marble and other plush touches reminiscent of Louis XIV’s court. __________________

Amaya La Jolla — sister restaurant to Amaya at The Grand Del Mar— was designed to be a welcoming, neighborhood eatery, chef Camron Woods said at a recent media event. “The menu offers exquisite American cuisine with a neat meridional influence”.

The name comes from Manchester’s granddaughter, Amaya.
